Kolara is situated near the northern boundary of the park and is one of the most easily accessible zones for visitors coming from Nagpur. It is one of the most popular safari zones for spotting the big cats.

Kolara is known for its lush bamboo thickets and sal forests, providing the perfect habitat for tigers, leopards, and sloth bears. Indian gaur and spotted deer are frequently seen grazing in the open clearings.
